March 21,Ven.PHRA THAMSITTHINA YOK, secretary of the King of Tailand Sangha, 10th Department Chief of Tailand Buddhism, Consultant of Wat Sraket Rajavaramahavihara Temple, Tailand, secretary of the King of Sangha, visited Shaolin Temple and had friendly talk with Shaolin Temple’s Abbot, Ven. Shi Yongxin at the Abbot Room.
Ven. PHRA THAMSITTHINA YOK expressed his honor of the meeting and highly appreciated the development situation shaolin had achieved in recent years under the correct leadership of Ven. Shi Yongxin.
"I have travelled lots of countries in the world, all my fellow Buddhists in Europe and America all asked me if I had been to Shaolin Temple of China and expressed their great wish to visit Shaolin because Shaolin had done a lot to promote Buddhism in the modern society”, he said.
Ven. Shi Yongxin introduced China’s current religious policy and Shaolin Temple’s effort of Buddhism promotion in the world,”Shaolin Temple had sent some dozens of monks to spread Chan Buddhism in the world through versatile cultural exchanges. Kungfu is the unique way to communicate with the society”. He also invited his Tailand guests to witness the upcoming Shaolin Debate in June.
The host and the guest exchanged gifts. Shaolin Abbot also hosted the guests to watch the Shaolin Chan Music Show which staged in Mount Songshan at 8:00PM every night.
